Imagine a morning meditative walk to our Retreat Venue, the awe-inspiring Sunset House overlooking Rosie Bay. Practice yoga with the sunrise, sip tea and begin your day with intention. Classes and workshops are aligned to honour the Fall Season, a time when the veil between your inner and outer body becomes more translucent. This is a time for deep nourishment and space. Within this held space, explore. your innate creativity through earth-based and expressive arts creative workshops, yoga, meditation, breathwork and time in nature.

Meet Your Host, Heidi MacPherson

I have been part of the evolution of the resort's Yoga and wellness programs at Pacific Sands since 2017. I am grateful for the Resort’s trust to curate intentional and personalized seasonal Retreats. With over 2000 hours of supplemental training in Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin, meditation, anatomy and biomechanics, my teachings are alignment-based, compassionate, and whole. 90 min Morning Hatha classes are skillfully sequenced and supported. I am inspired by the changing of seasons. “I love to pause, just as nature does. Deep Fall is the time for nourishment and space….the opportunity to dig beneath the soil.” My Retreats are the perfect container to create space for yourself, to immerse in the medicine of the Pacific Ocean and to reclaim your innate creativity.

Lisa Geddes
Creative Expressive Arts


Artist Lisa Geddes lives on Denman Island, one of British Columbia’s Northern Gulf Islands. She is inspired and influenced by the power and beauty of nature and feels fortunate to live in a part of the world blessed with abundant nature and wide open spaces. Lisa approaches art-making in the same way she aspires to approach life, with an attentive and inquiring mind. Her work explores the qualities of opacity, transparency, texture, and flux using water-based media, mainly acrylic and watercolour, in combination with a variety of drawing and mark-making tools, photo-transfer, found objects, limestone clay, and collage. Explore expressive mark making, visualize emotions, memories and create energy through drawing. Artist Lisa Geddes guides your inner artist towards a complete drawing. Lisa works both non-objectively and with more recognizable subject matter however her work is almost always a direct expression of her experiences in life.
You will find some of her work at The Art Junction Gallery in Whistler, BC and at the Denman Island Craft Shop on Denman Island.

Julia McCabe
Breathwork, Meditation


My teaching offers a blend of my life’s work since I was nineteen from a degree in Kinesiology in Montreal, Quebec at McGill University, to my studies (2021- current) in Neuroscience, Psychology and Mental Health at King’s College, London. In between, I have spent fifteen years traveling the world from Asia to Italy to Nicaragua, meeting and teaching thousands of students. Since 2003 over 2000 students have graduated from my programs in both yoga as well as neuroscience trainings, and continuing education courses for teachers. I also contribute to VSOHA (Rhodes College) in Vancouver in the subjects of anatomy and physiology and have an online boutique wellness studio curated for feel-good-practices and supporting brain-body health. Students include health care workers, body workers, nurses, parents, business coaches, mentors – all ages, shapes, sizes. Educate, liberate is a motto I try to live by as both a teacher and student.

Included in Create + Nourish is one surf lesson with the option to book another at a discounted rate. Happy to surf on your own? Surf Sister offers a full package of rental gear (not including performance boards) at a special Create + Nourish daily or weekend price. Surf, massage, relax at Sunset House in the hot tub or sauna before dinner. Eat a nourishing family style dinner, relax again with Yin or Restorative Yoga. Repeat.
