Immerse in the luxury of a two hour class where the yoga tradition has time to embed and embody. Shroud your experience with mantra, meditation and movement. Expect an all levels morning-paced and balanced Vinyasa class, woven with yoga philosophy and story. Expect Heidi to pull a thread from the yoga tradition and to situate that tapestry within Tla-o-qui-aht teachings. Cultivate a sense of place and wholeness physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.

Expand your understanding of the Tribal Park Allies pledge, its His-shuk-nish-tsa-waak, the Tla-o-qui-aht worldview and its parallels to Yoga. Even if you have taken this series before, the learning is infinite. Yoga philosophy and attributes of the 8 limbed path including Yamas and Niyamas (Yoga ethical principles), Dhyana (meditation) and Samadhi will be explored in the context of indigenous worldview. Expect to learn and embody the Tribal Parks Allies Pledge through breath, movement, drumming and traditional song.

Embody these 4 Buddhist Noble Truths: metta (love and kindness) Karuna (compassion), Mudita (joy) and Upeksha (equanimity) in expansive lateral stretches, twists and front body openings. Expect a soulful morning-paced all levels Vinyasa.

About Jackson’s music:
Jackson utilizes the soft resonance of the nylon-stringed guitar to explore realms of curiosity and tranquility. Through the art of droning and a sonic backdrop of repetitive motifs, listeners are invited to a familiar yet ever-branching sonic garden. This approach not only roots one in a sense of home but also gently nudges them toward the boundaries of their sensory experiences. Employing musical intuition and the deliberate use of space, Jackson aims to cultivate a dual sense of wonder and serenity, allowing the body and mind to settle, activate, and transform within the flow of each melody. Jackson has been playing guitar for 13 years. He currently teaches art and music at Maaqtusiis high school in Ahousaht.
